Oh hey, it’s been a hot minute since I published anything on here. If you follow along on Instagram, you’ve likely noticed that the last few months have been quite the whirlwind for my husband and I — we picked up and moved across the country from upstate New York to Northwest Arkansas at the end of April, spent a month living that not-so-glamorous hotel life, and then moved into the apartment of my dreams (more on that and a little tour very soon!). Needless to say, with everything going on, the blog has taken a bit of a back seat lately, but it’s so nice to finally be back AND styling the most amazing jumpsuit from Tradlands!
When Tradlands dropped the first sneak peek of the Finn — a dreamy, archival-inspired jumpsuit — on Instagram, I instantly knew that it would be the perfect “everyday” piece in my wardrobe. Now y’all know I love a good jumpsuit to begin with — what made me gravitate toward the Finn in particular was the silhouette, which is slightly structured silhouette and gives me all the #vintageminimalism vibes.
I work from home, so I typically reach for casual everyday pieces that require little effort AND make me feel “put together.” Having worked in a remote position for more than five years now, I’ve found that having a morning routine of “getting dressed” helps a lot with my mental state and overall work productivity (kudos to those of you who can work in your PJs every day … it’s not for me). Since I am typically in more casual wear, it was fun dressing up this piece with a pair of black kitten heels that my mother-in-law spotted while we were thrifting together earlier this year.

The Fit
Let’s face it: jumpsuits are hard to get the sizing just right. The Finn runs a bit oversized — I typically wear a M/L in Tradlands clothing, and opted for the M after comparing my measurements to the sizing guide (I highly recommend doing this for this piece). Not only did it fit great, but it also won’t require any altering, which I typically have to do with jumpsuits … hello wider hips and shorter legs. This jumpsuit has a relaxed fit in the waist/hip area, comes with a sash belt (and no belt loops), and easy-to-cuff hems in the legs, so it can basically be customized to fit how you want, and I’ve seen so many women rocking it beautifully — just scroll through #TradlandsWornWell on Instagram and you’ll see what I mean :) Oh, and did I mention the perfectly-oversized pockets?!?
The Fabric
The Finn Jumpsuit comes in two fabrics — linen/Tencel and washed canvas. When it was first released, I initially had my eye on the natural washed canvas, but after a happy little accident that resulted in both color ways being shipped to me, I decided to try the black on as well, and actually ended up loving it even more because 1) I knew it would be a bit more practical for me and less stain-prone, and 2) it was a bit more flattering on my body type due to the darker color and flowy nature of the linen/Tencel material. While linen and Tencel both have a tendency to wrinkle, the black helps conceal the wrinkle factor — in fact, I’ve only ironed it once and worn it three times since.
In short, this jumpsuit make me feel like I’m wearing head-to-toe pajamas, but look like I’ve got my shit together, making it simultaneously functional for casual and formal occasions — which is why the Finn is a true “everyday” piece.
